The largest ministry of North Carolina Baptist Men is to mobilize thousands of trained and untrained disaster response volunteers. After Hurricane Florence and Tropical Storm Fred, Baptists on Mission completed over 7,000 disaster recovery requests. They have repaired or reconstructed over 2,000 homes since 2018 in eastern and western North Carolina. Golden LEAF grant funds will be used to support a range of Helene recovery related needs including volunteer support expenses such as shower trailer, volunteer meals, and transportation, tools and equipment, materials and contractors to support home repair expenses, and for other costs to assist survivors.
