Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) is a 45-year-old, farmer-member nonprofit organization with more than 2,800 members that supports farmers in the Carolinas to successfully access markets for local and organic food. CFSA provides technical assistance to farmers in implementing conservation practices, organic transition, food safety, and market access, reaching 750+ producers each year through consulting and training. CFSA has held multiple grant and cooperative agreements with the USDA Farm Services Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumers Services. Golden LEAF funds will be used for personnel, travel, and training expenses to provide technical assistance to North Carolina farmers in Hurricane Helene impacted communities to help them access disaster relief programs.
