Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Charlotte has operated since 1948, providing support to individuals in crisis through physical locations in Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Lenoir, Murphy, North Wilkesboro, and Winston-Salem and through parish-based program offerings across the Diocese of Charlotte. Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte, which covers the Hurricane Helene-affected areas, is currently engaged in the distribution of immediate needs to those impacted by Helene. In the coming months as immediate needs are met, Catholic Charities will provide case work and link survivors with services and resources to address immediate and anticipated recovery needs. Catholic Charities has already begun to identify survivors through direct contact and through community partners and collaborative organizations. Golden LEAF grant funds will be used for six case management and related positions and for replacement personal property for survivors of Hurricane Helene.
