Description:
This award provides funding to Isothermal Community College (ICC) to expand its high-demand healthcare programs. The college has received $30 million in state funds to construct the 52,000 square-foot Dr. Bobby F. England Health and Sciences Center to house these programs. The new facility, expected to open in 2027, will allow ICC to double the number of graduates from its nursing, EMT, and paramedic programs to 214 students annually by 2030. The college also expects to add new programs such as Physical Therapy Assistant, Respiratory Care Assistant, and Medical Technician. Golden LEAF funds will be used for healthcare simulation equipment and related computers, software, and IT infrastructure.
