The head works auger screen at the Clarkton Wastewater Treatment Plant was damaged during Hurricane Matthew and again during Hurricane Florence. The auger screen is vital to the efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant as it removes material that would otherwise disrupt operations of equipment and treatment. The Town of Clarkton proposes to replace the screen and elevate the structure out of the flood risk and improve operation of the facility. FEMA has approved the replacement value of the auger screen only. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds will be used to replace the apparatus in a structure above grade.
