The purpose of this grant was to provide funding to Transylvania County for a collaborative effort to support STEM education in middle and high schools and assist the County with growing jobs at an existing company in need of additional space to manufacture product. The company indicated it would employ at least twenty (20) new people in addition to the 20 that it employed at the time of application. Golden LEAF funds were used for facility construction and pre-engineering kits for use by the middle and high school students.
