The Greendale Way area of the Village of Clemmons experiences flooding during heavy rain events. Flood waters overtop the culvert crossing and the street becomes impassable, affecting 30 homes. Golden LEAF flood mitigation grant funds will be used to increase capacity by replacing existing infrastructure. Households in the immediate project area will benefit from this project. Due to flooding from this culvert, there are multiple dead-end roads that become overtopped creating a safety concern for travelers and emergency services. The improvements at Greendale Way will also relieve many upstream culverts.
