Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will assist Burke County with the transformation of a former manufacturing facility into the Foothills Allied Health & Science Higher Education Center, where Western Piedmont Community College, Appalachian State University and Western Carolina University will provide instruction to 250 to 400 students annually. The Center plans to graduate 100 students each year to help meet documented regional needs for healthcare practitioners and healthcare support staff.
