Description:

This award provides funding to North Carolina State University (NCSU) to develop an accessible food safety training program for frontline employees of food processing companies within the NC food industry. The project will offer customized training across major sectors of the packaged food industry (e.g., seafood, meat and poultry, produce, etc.). The project will develop a needs assessment of food companies, training for frontline employees delivered at NC Cooperative Extension Centers throughout the state, and a train-the-trainer curriculum for supervisors and managers in both English and Spanish.
