Tyrrell County Rural Health Association
Program Area:
Community Assistance Initiative
County of Applicant:

The Columbia Medical Center, formed in 1979 by the efforts of individual residents raising money to establish the facility, has seen a 25% increase in patient visits over the past few years. The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to support an expansion of their existing building in order to increase the number of examining rooms and provide an area for additional specialty services. The primary objectives of the project are to increase the number of primary care patients that can be seen and to increase the number of specialists that can be made available on a local basis.
