The project is designed to improve high school students’ employability with in-depth training in technical skills and hands-on experience. The MCPS Construction Trades Program will partner with a local industrial, commercial, and residential construction and multi-trades services company with carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and electrical power line divisions. The company will provide classroom speakers and consultants, and training in construction topics and on related equipment. The company will also provide work-based learning experiences and possible employment to students. The Madison County Schools Construction Trades Programs will graduate approximately 30 students per year. Golden LEAF funds will be used for tools and equipment, curriculum materials and student credentialing, and building supplies.
