The grant provided funding to Nash County for the repair of storm water infrastructure damaged during Hurricane Matthew in Nashville along Elm Street and under adjacent public parking areas. Damage to pipes, including separated joints, had resulted in multiple leaks and sinkholes. Residences, businesses, government employees, as well as citizens accessing county services and special events benefited from the repaired infrastructure. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to repair and replace the storm drainage infrastructure.
