This grant provided funding to Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools (ECPPS) to support the integration of STEM-related career pathways, blended and collaborative learning, and project-based learning in two middle schools. Hands-on learning labs were designed to boost middle school students’ inquiry and foster their curiosity for STEM industry job opportunities and high school career pathways. ECPPS is expanding partnerships with local and regional businesses and industries to guide curriculum development and instruction. Golden LEAF funds were used for STEM learning labs in two middle schools and to support professional development activities to assist teachers in using project-based instruction and collaborative learning strategies.
