Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Duplin County Public Schools to support enhanced middle and high school STEM programs. The project includes starting an automotive program at one high school and providing all middle and high schools with equipment to create hands-on learning labs for students. The high school automotive program will serve as a feeder into James Sprunt Community College’s Diesel Mechanic program. Golden LEAF funding will be used to purchase automotive and makerspace equipment and classroom materials, support instructional costs for the new automotive program, provide professional development, and cover the costs of WorkKeys and Conover skills assessments.
