Description:

This grant provided funding to Duplin County Public Schools to support enhanced middle and high school STEM programs. The project included starting an automotive program at one high school and providing all middle and high schools with equipment to create hands-on learning labs for students. The high school automotive program was expected to serve as a feeder into James Sprunt Community College’s Diesel Mechanic program. Golden LEAF funds were used for automotive and makerspace equipment, classroom materials, instructional costs for the new automotive program, professional development, and skills assessment tools.
