Description:
This grant provided funding to Davidson County Community College (DCCC) for state-of-the-art educational technology and training equipment for DCCC’s new health sciences center. The DCCC Health Sciences Center is expanding the college’s ability to provide premier healthcare education and supply highly trained workers to regional healthcare facilities. The 48,386-square-foot center has co-located DCCC’s health programs and provides a collaborative educational environment. The needed educational technology and equipment cost more than $1 million over the $12 million construction cost. Classes began in the new facility in August 2018. The center is important to the semi-rural area, which has had major declines in traditional manufacturing.
