A significant portion of the Carolina Horse Park drained to a pond located in the park. A dam protected the gallop field below the pond. Hurricane Florence breached the dam. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds reimbursed the Park for the completed dam repair. FEMA Public Assistance and insurance were not available for this project.
