This Golden LEAF grant funded Carteret Community College Foundation to expand Carteret Community College’s (CCC) culinary programs by equipping a new culinary/hospitality facility on CCC campus. The more than $5 million facility was funded by State bond funds received by CCC and support from Carteret County. The facility was outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment that enabled CCC to provide better training for professionals for the industry and provide a site for in-service training for current culinary and hospitality workers. CCC anticipated that enrollment in culinary/hospitality curriculum programs would double and that CCC would provide in-service training to an additional 200 individuals annually. CCC was able to place nearly all of the program graduates in positions in the field. Golden LEAF funds were used to purchase equipment for the new facility.
