The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Fayetteville Technical Community College fto establish the Associate of Applied Science degree in Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology, an innovative career pathway merging industry credentials with a higher education curriculum. This program is a collaborative partnership involving several local employers who have committed to provide supplies, training materials, and job placement opportunities to graduates. The Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Repair has also been involved in designing the program, which will meet the I-CAR training standards. Golden LEAF funds will be used for technology that will allow safer and more flexible and effective instruction.
