Merry Street experiences frequent flooding as a result of inadequate stormwater infrastructure. Stormwater overtops the road preventing homeowners from leaving their homes. The City of Dunn proposes to divert the stormwater into new piping that will move the water to the nearby Juniper’s Creek and avoid any downstream effects. Golden LEAF flood mitigation grant funds will be used for construction. The city will also use an ARPA planning grant and a CWSRF loan to complete this project. Households and other entities in the project area and other users of the road will benefit from this project.
