This award provides funding to Vance-Granville Community College to support the establishment of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Technology, a new $15.2 million training facility to be located at the Triangle North Granville Business Park. The Center will support five high-demand programs: Electronics, HVAC, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, and Welding. The initiative will also strengthen regional workforce readiness through expanded dual-enrollment opportunities for high school students, the integration of stackable micro-credentials, and enhanced work-based learning pathways connecting students with employers across Granville, Vance, Franklin, and Warren counties. Annual projections include 90 additional students earning an academic credential, 90 additional students earning a third-party or industry-recognized certification, and 48 additional students participating in work-based learning experiences. Golden LEAF funds will be used for equipment, supplies, and construction costs.
