This grant provided funding to Cumberland County Hospital System, Inc. to install a well at the Cape Fear Valley Hospital, which had experienced the loss of public water utility service due to waterline breaks as a result of Hurricane Matthew. The water outage affected all aspects of patient care and the hospital’s ability to function. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to design, drill, and install a well onsite to mitigate against future water loss.
