Description:

The purpose of the Bertie County Family Resource Center is to strengthen families and communities by providing access to resources, services and support for the working poor. The Center provides services at no cost for families and seniors who don’t qualify for DSS services, but lack the resources to help their families during a temporary crisis. Services are available to families 24 hours a day at sites in Windsor and Lewiston and include parenting classes, a food pantry and clothes closet, before and after school services, and parenting classes. The Center also provides assistance with resume writing, computer skills training and basic job readiness. The Center helps families move toward self-sufficiency.
