underline squiggle

Organization:

Town of Princeton

Amount:

431766.6

Program Area:

Disaster Recovery Grant Program

County of Applicant:

Johnston

Year:

10/05/2017

Description:

The grant provided funding to the Town of Princeton to repair the eroded banks of the Beaver Dam Ditch due to flooding from Hurricane Matthew. A large area of the town and outlying areas drained to the ditch. Princeton applied for and received FEMA Public Assistance to repair the aging infrastructure on North Center Street, which was also damaged during the hurricane, but funds were not sufficient to repair damage in the Beaver Dam Ditch. Homes and businesses in this drainage area, as well as a portion of US Highway 70, benefited from the repairs. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to support repairs and mitigate against future damage to the ditch.
