This award provided funding to Pitt County to construct approximately 13,500 linear feet of 12-inch water line infrastructure. The extension allowed adequate system pressure to meet fire suppression requirements at Tract A of the Ayden Rail Site. The county anticipated that the project could result in 200 new jobs with an average salary of $50,000 and $100 million in private capital investment at that site.
