The Golden LEAF Foundation recently welcomed two new staff members, Blythe Evans and Flecia Silver.
“We are excited to announce two new staff members to help carry out the mission of the Foundation,” said Golden LEAF President, Chief Executive Officer, Scott T. Hamilton. “Blythe and Flecia bring a great set of skills and expertise to our hardworking team of dedicated professionals.”
Blythe Evans, Administrative Assistant for Operations & External Affairs
Evans joined Golden LEAF on May 30 as Administrative Assistant for Operations & External Affairs. In her role, she provides administrative support to the Foundation, working collaboratively with the Operations, External Affairs, and other staff to ensure efficient operation of the office. Evans has a background in office administration and experience in the defense contracting industry, North Carolina state government, and the nonprofit sector.
Evans is a native of Wilson, N.C., and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She pursues her passion for music by serving as a worship leader at her church and enjoys cheering on the Tar Heels at every opportunity.
Flecia Silver, Accounting Specialist
Silver joined the Golden LEAF Foundation on June 12 as the Accounting Specialist. In her role, she provides accounting/financial support and human resources assistance.
Silver has over 15 years of accounting experience. Prior to joining the Golden LEAF Foundation, she was the Accounting Specialist at QVC in Rocky Mount for 10 years. Silver began her accounting career at the Nottingham Investment Company as a Fund Accountant and as a Staff Accountant for the nonprofit organization Rural Health Group.
A native of Whitakers, N.C., Silver is a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and has an Associate of Science Degree in Accounting from ECPI University’s College of Technology.
Before joining Golden LEAF, Cherry was the Manager of Finance and Data Compliance with Teach for America and held roles at Pitt Community College.
Lifelong Pitt County resident, Cherry currently lives in Greenville, N.C., and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from the University of Mount Olive and a Master of Science in Administration of Justice Security from the University of Phoenix.
