Maximum Project Funding
The maximum award for any project is $250,000. No project budget or application may exceed $250,000.
Separate Projects in Separate Funding Opportunities
If an organization is submitting an application for the food bank partner agency funding opportunity and the school-based weekend food distribution opportunity, it will submit a separate application for each opportunity. An organization does not need to comply with the process for separate applications described below if submitting one application in the school-based weekend food distribution opportunity and one application in the food bank partners agency funding opportunity.
Separate Projects in a Single Funding Opportunity
Organizations may implement separate projects in a single funding opportunity, i.e., the school-based weekend food distribution opportunity or the food bank partner agency funding opportunity. If the total cost of the separate projects exceeds $250,000, the organization must comply with the process described below and submit a separate application for each project. Each project budget and application is subject to the $250,000 funding limit.
Projects are considered separate if each proposed project has distinct outcomes and satisfies the following:
For pick up distribution locations
Each proposed project will support food distribution from, and will be located at, a separate physical location.
For mobile and remote distribution
An organization does NOT need to submit more than one application if the total request is less than $250,000, even though the application may include projects that could be considered separate projects. Each project will need to be described clearly in the application.
Eligible Examples
Organization requesting funds for equipment and building upfit of Pick Up Location #1 AND Pick Up Location #2. Locations are in geographically separate locations and serve different populations.
Organization requesting funds for a new freezer/cooler to support Pick Up Location #1 AND a new refrigerated box truck for Mobile Delivery Route #1.
Organization requesting funds for storage equipment and freezer/coolers to support Pick Up Location #1 AND installation of a loading dock at Pick Up Location #1 to support Mobile Delivery Route #1.
Ineligible Examples
Organization is requesting funds to improve the parking lot of Pick Up Location #1 AND new freezer/coolers and other equipment to serve Pick Up Location #1 where the total cost is more than $250,000.
Organization is requesting a new refrigerated box truck to support Mobile Delivery Route #1 AND installation of a loading dock at Pick Up Location #1 to support Mobile Delivery Route #1 where the total cost is more than $250,000.
Organization is requesting funds for a new freezer/cooler at Pick Up Location #2 AND a new refrigerated box truck to supply Pick Up Location #2 where the total cost is more than $250,000.
Process
Organizations that would like to submit separate applications must complete and submit this form using the upload form below and receive approval from Golden LEAF prior to submitting more than one application through the grant application portal. Approval to submit separate projects does not imply funds will be awarded for any or all of the projects.
