This award provides funding to complete due diligence analyses of a 76-acre site in the Town of Troy’s Uwharrie Business Park. The property contains 57.44 buildable acres and is currently vacant and wooded. This parcel was identified through Golden LEAF’s SITE Identification program as having strong potential for industrial and commercial development. The town anticipates recruiting small manufacturers, assembly companies and distribution/logistics companies to the site. The project is projected to create 95 new full-time jobs with an average annual wage of $60,000, compared to the county average of $47,686. The project also expects to generate $11,000,000 in private capital investment and $225,000 in public investment. Golden LEAF funds will be used for approved due diligence activities and reports.
