This award provides funding to support the location of Vulcan Elements in the Town of Benson in Johnston County. Vulcan Elements will create 1,000 jobs paying an average annual wage of nearly $82,000 and will make a capital investment of $918 million. Golden LEAF funds will be used to acquire training equipment to be installed in the Johnston Community College Advanced Manufacturing Training Facility. The college will use the equipment to provide necessary training for people interested in working for Vulcan Elements. The equipment will also serve other companies and the public. Golden LEAF funds will also be used to renovate the training facility to accommodate the equipment and training needs.
