This grant provided funding to Haywood Community College to assist with equipping the simulated hospital unit of its newly constructed Health Education Building. The college expected the new equipment to help increase the growth of its RN and LPN-to-RN nursing program by 33 students, to better prepare students for licensing exams, and to increase first-time pass rates. The project was expected to leverage $5 million from Haywood Healthcare Foundation and $2.8 million from the Connect NC bond. Golden LEAF funds were used for simulation equipment.
