Description:

This grant provided funding to Pitt Community College (PCC) to equip a 10-bed simulated hospital on its main campus as a component of a $1.4 million project that also included building renovations, IT infrastructure upgrades, sonography, echocardiography, EMS, and mammography labs, and modifications to an existing radiography lab. The project was expected to allow PCC to increase enrollment in nursing by 50 students and in allied health programs by ten students, to increase clinical placement options, to enhance the College’s educational and training capacity to meet the needs of employers in the region, and to help improve NCCLEX first-time pass rates. Golden LEAF funds were used for simulation equipment.
