The purpose of this grant was to provide funding to the Global Opportunities Center to implement the Triad Regional Export Initiative (TREI), which helped meet the specific needs and challenges of rural companies looking to grow sales revenue through export. Student interns assessed the capacity of participating companies to pursue export opportunities, assisted companies with data gathering and market analysis, designed company-specific export strategies, and linked company representatives to the network of resources available through the TREI. Golden LEAF Funds were used for marketing and communications, business recruitment and resource development, stipends for student interns, project management and evaluation, and training/development.
