Robeson County Church and Community Center provided a food pantry, basic medical supplies, and utility assistance in Robeson County. Its facility in Red Springs had extensive roof damage during Hurricane Matthew and again during Hurricane Florence. The damage caused by Hurricane Florence did not exceed the insurance deductible and was not repaired. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to repair the roof and ceiling. The United Way managed the grant funds and contractors as they did when working with nonprofit organizations to provide support to community members following hurricanes.
