Stormwater resulting from Hurricane Florence caused erosion and led to the destabilization of the walls of a ravine on Methodist University campus. The erosion exposed the footings of a bridge that served as the access point from the main side of campus to several academic and athletic facilities. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to reimburse the university for the completed emergency repairs to the ravine and bridge. FEMA Public Assistance and insurance were not available for this project.
