This grant provided funding to Robeson Community College to help meet the local need for workers trained in HVAC/Refrigeration. The College’s training lab required upgraded equipment to better align with the modern machinery of local employers. Outcomes for this project included increases in enrollment and in the number of students earning third-party certifications. Scholarship funds provided by Piedmont Natural Gas targeted students in these high-demand fields, helping to drive increased HVAC program enrollment. Golden LEAF funds were used for HVAC/R training equipment.
