The purpose of this grant was to provide funding to Onslow County Public Schools to establish STEM centers in four middle schools that previously did not have STEM programs, update the STEM centers in the three existing middle school labs, and create two health science labs and one STEM lab in two high schools. The project served approximately 1,300 middle school students and 990 high school students through STEM courses or participation in designated career training pathways over a two-year period. The project ensured that Onslow County students were equipped with the necessary education, technical, critical-thinking, and social skills needed to achieve their college and career goals. Funds were used for STEM center setup, project development, and curriculum modules.
