This grant provided funding to the Town of Morrisville to mitigate frequent flooding in the Wolfsnare Lane area which affected homes and public roads and prevented egress from residential parking areas. An undersized culvert restricted flows, resulting in backwaters that overtopped the roadway and caused surface runoff nearby. The flow of stormwater to the area had been affected by recent development and the upsizing of a culvert upstream of the project area. Households and businesses in the immediate area benefitted from this project. Golden LEAF funds were used to upsize the culvert and improve channel berms to accommodate the backflows and mitigate flooding in nearby areas.
