The Town of Trent Woods experiences town-wide flooding during quick and heavy rain events. During flooding events, emergency vehicles are unable to access roadways and the town often must block roads to prevent travel. Golden LEAF flood mitigation grant funds were used to develop a Master Drainage Plan. The development of the Master Drainage Plan was completed in two phases. The first phase identified, surveyed, and inventoried existing ditches, pipes, and storm drain structures within the town limits. The second phase utilized the existing storm drain asset inventory to build a detailed hydrologic and hydraulic model. Results of these two phases established conceptual projects to reduce flooding and improve water quality. The entire town benefited from this project.
