This award provided funding to Farmer Foodshare, Inc., a food aggregator and distributor, to be used to purchase and upfit a sprinter van for cold transportation of produce. The organization’s current trucks were at full capacity and were much larger than the van. This smaller vehicle was needed to meet the demand of the organization’s growing CSA program for transportation of produce from smaller farms and delivery to consumers, restaurants, and smaller facilities. This project added produce from 20 farmers to the CSA program and increased revenue by $77,000 for farmers participating in the program. It is expected that an additional 30 farmers will be added in 2025, with an additional $25,000 in revenue generated for participating farmers.
