What does it mean to you to serve as an intern at Golden LEAF?
Serving as an intern at Golden LEAF means learning how to give back to the local community and helping it grow. As the CEO and founder of a nonprofit it means the world to me to have the chance to learn from a large organization such as Golden LEAF.

What have you learned that you didn’t think would be a part of Scholarship Program work?
One thing I have learned unexpectedly is how to plan a small event. There are many things that go into the logistics of an event that one would not know and it’s great to have the chance to learn this as I plan to eventually have my own events.

What are some of your favorite things you do as an intern at Golden LEAF?
My two favorite things to do as an intern at Golden LEAF are sitting in on meetings and creating alumni spotlights. Being able to sit in on meetings gives me a chance to see how organizational meetings are operated in the workforce. Creating alumni spotlights helps me hone my writing skills while also learning about someone who is also connected to Golden LEAF.

Describe Golden LEAF in three words.
Innovation. Devotion. Family.

What type of work do you want to do when you graduate and where do you see yourself living and working?
Upon graduation I see myself building my life in Eastern North Carolina. My plan is to obtain a leadership position in the banking, tech, or healthcare industries. I will also continue to grow my LLC MAG Enterprises/Sports Media as I hope to add to the innovation and growth of Eastern North Carolina. I will also continue to operate and grow my nonprofit MAG Cares which aims to improve the mental and physical health of the youth in Eastern North Carolina.

Would you like to share any words of advice for prospective interns?
Come ready to learn and communicate your ideas and thoughts with the rest of the Golden LEAF staff. They are all very welcoming and supportive of your goals and aspirations.
