2020 Year in Review – Outreach

December 21, 2020

In January and February 2020, Golden LEAF held two roundtables to highlight some of the successes of Foundation-supported programs. Grantees and those impacted by the projects shared their challenges and accomplishments with members of the Golden LEAF Board and the legislature.

The first roundtable was hosted by Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) in Pasquotank County and focused on regional workforce preparedness and education projects. Officials from the partner entities explained their project outcomes, lessons learned, and highlighted the collaboration needed for the success of this regional strategy. Project partners included ECSU, Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public Schools, College of the Albemarle, Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies (NEAAAT), and River City Community Development Corporation.

The second roundtable was hosted by the University of Mount Olive and focused on regional and statewide agriculture projects. This roundtable featured officials from the Northeast Regional School of Biotechnology and Agriscience, the University of Mount Olive, and the North Carolina SweetPotato Commission. This roundtable showcased the varied strategies Golden LEAF supports in agriculture.

Golden LEAF looks forward to holding more regional roundtables in the future. Learn more about the two roundtables held below:
