The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Wayne Health Foundation (WATCH) Clinical Training Program to increase clinical placements for ECU’s Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) students in rural, underserved areas of North Carolina. This will increase the number of primary care practitioners in rural, underserved communities in NC by graduating seven to nine Wayne County-trained students every 1.5 years. WATCH offers three clinical sites throughout the county. Golden LEAF funds will be used for two years of clinical team salaries and benefits.
