This grant provided funding to Yancey County to extend water infrastructure to the Yancey County Commercial Park in Burnsville to make the commercial property marketable to new business and industry. Local officials had identified a private sector employer for the site contingent on the water line extension, and were fielding inquiries from other potential occupants. Golden LEAF funds were used for infrastructure extension.
