Town of Bethel Infrastructure Improvements for Disaster Recovery & Resilience

Organization:
Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC)
Amount:
$424,000.00
Program Area:
Disaster Recovery Grant Program
County of Applicant:
Pitt
Year:
2020
Description:

Hurricanes Matthew and Florence both caused significant flooding that overtopped the berm protecting the main pump station for the Town of Bethel. Golden LEAF disaster recovery funds will be used to improve stormwater infrastructure at the site to mitigate future flooding. The town is pursuing EDA funding for a more comprehensive project including construction of a replacement pump station and appurtenances, gravity sewer main, and force main. Site work would include erosion control, berm modification, fencing, and other related costs. Golden LEAF disaster recovery grant funds may be used to match EDA funding to enable project completion.
