This grant provides funding to Henderson Collegiate (HC) to incorporate digital teaching and learning into the curriculum for all middle and high school students. HC is a public charter school serving 85% economically disadvantaged students in Vance County. It opened in 2010 with one hundred 4th graders and now serves 1,225 students in grades K-2 and 4-12. HC is providing its students with a pathway out of generational poverty via a college prep culture that provides them with the depth of technological understanding that will equip them for success in college and career. HC will implement digital learning over a two-year period. Golden LEAF funds will be used to purchase devices and for professional development.
