This Golden LEAF grant will assist Graham County Schools with expanding its digital learning initiative to students in grades 4-8. The project will provide students in grades 5-8 with Chromebooks and purchase Chromebook carts for classroom use in grade 4. Graham County Schools recently partnered with Gear Up, Harrah’s Scholarship Fund, and USDA to equip students in grades 9-12 with devices. The project will help expose students in grades 4-8 to technology-rich teaching and learning before entering high school. The local education agency will contract with the Friday Institute and others to provide high-quality professional development to train teachers in effective instructional practice using technology as a tool to differentiate learning. Golden LEAF funds will be used to purchase computers and computer carts and for professional development costs.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
