Description:

The Golden LEAF grant will provide funding to the STEM East Network to partner with the Friday Institute at North Carolina State University to implement a comprehensive evaluation of six eastern North Carolina school districts funded to establish STEM programs aligned with regional employers’ needs for skilled workers. STEM East will act as the coordinator working directly with the evaluation team from the Friday Institute and six grantees: Carteret School District, Craven County Schools, Duplin County Schools, Greene County Schools, Lenoir County Public Schools, and Onslow County Schools. The evaluation team will create a sustainable plan to enhance the evaluation capacity of the grantees; develop STEM education tools, process, and practices; and, assess the impact of the program using common outcomes. Funds will be used to contract with the Friday Institute, and for personnel, travel, and the costs of training events.
