Residences near intersections along the South Memorial Avenue corridor experience frequent flooding due to inadequate drainage infrastructure and undersized and structurally deteriorated piping. Golden LEAF flood mitigation grant funds will be used for construction costs to replace existing drainage infrastructure along the South Memorial Avenue corridor between East Gallery Row and East Barnes Street. Piping along the South Memorial Avenue trunkline will be upsized as determined by recent surveys performed by the town. Households in the immediate project area will benefit from this project.
