Description:

This award will allow Haywood Community College to purchase simulation equipment to equip the simulated hospital unit of its newly constructed Health Education Building. The college expects the equipment will help increase growth of its nursing program, including increasing the number of students in the RN program by 23, and increasing the number of students in the LPN-to-RN program by 10. The equipment is also expected to better prepare students for licensing exams and to increase first-time pass rates. The project leverages $5 million from Haywood Healthcare Foundation and $2.8 million from the Connect NC bond.
