Description:
This grant provided funding to the Rowan-Salisbury Schools System (RSSS) to implement an advanced manufacturing curriculum pathway (AMCP) that includes training in mechatronics, metal fabrication, and computer engineering for high school students. The initiative aligns with an existing STEM magnet program at the Knox Middle School (KMS). The AMCP at Salisbury High School includes strategies to improve students’ perception of manufacturing careers by introducing them to the skills required for employment in local industries. The AMCP operates like a magnet program and is open to all RSSS students. Golden LEAF funds provided curriculum materials, facility upgrades, professional development, computers and related equipment.
